A 20-minute performance in solidarity across watery selves and bodies of water – a dance of molecules that connects all of life into one vivid stream.

APPROACH

Developing the concept and visuals and performing live, together with co-performer Emia Mäenpää and sound designer Tiikka Järveläinen.

RESULT

Performed at Traumburg Festival (DE) and Eight Rooms Gallery (DE) in 2023, inviting audiences to connect to the water within and to non-human life forms.

HYDRA is a performance in solidarity across watery selves, across bodies of water – a dance of molecules that connects all of life into one vivid stream. We invite everyone to connect to the water within and to evoke understanding of non-human life forms.

Water flows through all bodies, species and materialities connecting them into its life-supporting cycles. It is the key to life itself – it is essentially what we are. Water moves across the land, forges our landscapes and moves all forms of life with it. Water is the embodiment of transformation, morphing from hard to soft, powerful to soothing, cold to hot.
