A book commissioned by filmmaker Natalia Sliwowska, a graduate of the Netherlands Film Academy, whose work deals with experimental filmmaking, chance, improvisation, symbolism and synchronicity.

APPROACH

Designing, printing and binding the book, creating a cinematic reading experience of a film that would never be shown to an audience due to its sensitive nature.

RESULT

A hand-bound book (2021) that draws the reader into a story of desire, compulsion, revulsion and rituals.

A book project commissioned by Natalia Sliwowska, a graduate at the Netherlands Film Academy dealing with experimental filmmaking, chance, improvisation, symbolism & synchronicity. The story follows an encounter of two strangers – an ex sex worker & medium and an unorthodox stranger who claims to have seen the pope levitate. These strange cinematic encounters drag you into a story of desire, compulsion, revulsion and rituals.

The challenge was to create a cinematic reading experience of a film that would never be portrayed for the audience due to its sensitive nature.
